Fallout is a game franchise that has been out since the last nineties first on the PC/Mac and then later gained extreme popularity when it had the PS3 / Xbox 360 game consoles. After being around for over 25 years we are finally getting a TV show called Fallout on Amazon Prime. Alongside that Gunnar Optiks is collaborating with Fallout to bring you “Vault 33” glasses.

How Do They Look?

For starters can we just look at this collector’s case? It is one of Gunnar’s tin cases that is covered in royal blue with yellow lettering which is familiar to those lovely outfits we have seen over the years. On the front is the Vault-Tec 33 Industries logo while on the back is Fallout | Gunnar.

Inside the box you are greeted to a microfiber cloth with the previously mentioned wording that is on the case with one on each side. After that we get a pouch with a good old loveable Vault Boy on the front giving you that formidable thumbs up with yellow drawstrings to keep your glasses secure and protected.

Vault 33 glasses are two toned in color with olive temples that have the Vault 33 on the end pieces while the rest of the glasses such as the frames are in a stainless-steel styling. They are square shaped which gives them a modern but also throwback look. The lens themselves use Gunnar’s G-Shield coating and come in either Clear, Amber, Sun, or Prescription. The pair I am covering is the Amber version.

They feel nice and light and cover a good deal of eye vision real estate if that makes sense based on how big the lenses themselves are. They weigh 20g which is lighter than the Stark Industries but a smidge heavier than the God of Mischief which are 18.71g

Should you get them?

These are a cooling pair of glasses by Gunnar. They look like something you could consider hip but also retro if you found them 100s of years later in a setting like Fallout.

They are available now on Amazon and Gunnar starting at $99 and at $249 if you need a prescription.
