After checking out Kenmore’s 1200e air purifier last month I thought I take a step up and try out the 2300e. This covers almost double the space at 2300 square feet but also has Wi-Fi capabilities allowing you to control your air purifier virtually anywhere. But is it really necessary?

Style

The 2300e resembles the Kenmore 1200e with it being a boxy shaped device and mostly in white with the ventilation on top in gray. It is quite tall though coming in at close to 24”, a width of about 14” all around and weighting 20lbs. This looks to be the biggest air purifier I have covered thus far, trumping the Dreo Macro Max S. Luckily it has handles on each side if you need to move it around. But overall, it has an exceptionally clean minimalistic look to it. It has vents on each side for air circulation and various buttons on top.

  • On/Off – Self Explanatory
  • Timer – Set a time to turn it off.
  • Filter Reset – Flashes when Filter is ready to expire.
  • Mode – Toggle between AUTO, SLEEP, or Manual
  • Fan Speed – There are five fan speed options.

I do like the large digital display on the front with its black background, white lettering/numbers, and its illuminating light. The light will vary in color depending on the air quality in your home. You will get your air quality level and what PM 2.5 status you are at ranging from Very Good to Poor. There is even humidity % and temperature both gauging your living area.

Setup / Features

Unboxing the 2300e wasn’t a grueling task with its AC plug already attached and having to pull the vents off and install the filters on each side. Since this was the first Wi-Fi enabled air purifier, I got from Kenmore I had to go through downloading the app, creating a profile, and getting the 2300e synchronized with my network. For whatever reason, whether it was my network or their app I was initially having issues getting it synchronized. After a while though trying again it connected and has been fine since.

This 2300e air purifier by Kenmore does utilize a True HEPA filter. This means it can capture up to 99.97% of dust particles, non-friendly odors, and dander. It has triple stage filtration with a Pre-Filter, H13 True HEPA Filter, and Activated Carbon Filter.

Usage

While looking at the digital display alone will give you enough info, the app will tell you what level your filter life is at and even turn on a Child Lock (which you can do on the device too). I have found the app itself can be a bit delayed with details coming from the air purifier and sometimes enabling and disabling features can take a couple of presses.

For the past month I have been using the 2300e air purifier in place of my other air purifier and it’s been proving impressive results. It’s usually quiet with me not even realizing it’s on half the time. I notice mostly doing legwork when I’m cooking, and it can tell the changes in the air. This is when you will see the levels and lights change and the fans start roaring a bit. But it’s not too loud still. It does help reduce or cleanse the air in a timely manner though.

Verdict

The Kenmore 2300e air purifier is a step up from the smaller 1200e. While it is significantly bigger it does cover a wider range, has a brighter display, and more features such as Wi-Fi capabilities.

The fact you can access your air purifier anywhere in the house or even outside is convenient that want to have their air cleansed by the time they get home. While it does cost more you are paying to cover more space and its price at $279.99 puts it in range around others of its coverage.
