Glorious has built its reputation by delivering enthusiast-grade gaming peripherals that consistently offer strong performance without demanding flagship prices. From keyboards and mice to mousepads and accessories, the company has developed a loyal following by focusing on value rather than excess. Audio, however, has remained one category Glorious hadn’t explored until now. Enter the GHS Eternal lineup, consisting of the standard GHS Eternal and the more feature-rich GHS Eternal RGB. Over the past two weeks, I used both headsets daily across PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, intentionally swapping between them throughout my testing to understand whether the RGB model truly justified its higher asking price.

What I discovered is that Glorious didn’t build two vastly different products. Instead, it built one excellent foundation and expanded upon it. Both headsets deliver the same enjoyable audio experience, dependable microphone quality, and broad compatibility, while the RGB model layers on a handful of premium conveniences that make it the more complete package. At their respective prices, both represent exceptional value, but if your budget allows, the Eternal RGB is the one I’d recommend without hesitation.

Build Quality

The first thing that stood out after unboxing both headsets was their lightweight design. Modern gaming headsets have gradually become heavier as manufacturers continue adding larger batteries, wireless hardware, and increasingly elaborate designs. The Eternal lineup takes a far more restrained approach. Both models feel comfortable almost immediately, with enough flexibility in the frame to inspire confidence without ever feeling flimsy. The earcups rotate naturally, the memory foam cushions remain comfortable during long gaming sessions, and clamp force strikes an excellent balance between security and comfort. Even after several hours of continuous use, I rarely felt the urge to remove either headset.

The biggest physical difference between the two models is the floating suspension headband found on the Eternal RGB. While the standard Eternal is already comfortable, the suspension system distributes weight more evenly across the top of the head, reducing pressure during extended sessions and making the RGB model noticeably easier to wear for marathon gaming nights. Visually, both headsets maintain a clean, understated appearance that avoids the overly aggressive styling common in the gaming market. The RGB lighting is tasteful rather than distracting, and the white version in particular looks fantastic on camera, making it my favorite of the two color options.

Specs and Performance

Both headsets utilize custom-tuned 40mm angled drivers, and that design pays off immediately in gaming. Positional audio is consistently impressive, making footsteps, environmental cues, and distant gunfire easy to identify without relying on artificially boosted treble. Competitive shooters benefit from the accurate stereo imaging, while cinematic single-player games enjoy a wide, immersive presentation with clear dialogue and satisfying low-end impact. Music performance follows a similarly enjoyable approach, leaning toward a fun, energetic sound signature with punchy bass that never completely overwhelms vocals or instruments. These aren’t reference headphones designed for studio monitoring, but they were never intended to be. They’re gaming headsets first, and they perform that role exceptionally well.

The detachable microphone also exceeded my expectations, producing consistently clear voice quality during Discord conversations, multiplayer communication, and voice recordings. Platform compatibility proved equally strong throughout my testing, allowing me to move seamlessly between PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch without issue. This is where the Eternal RGB begins separating itself from the standard model. USB-C connectivity unlocks RGB lighting, Glorious CORE software, firmware updates, EQ customization, and additional onboard controls, while the floating suspension headband further improves long-term comfort.

The standard Eternal gives up those extras, but remarkably little else. The core audio experience remains almost identical, making it one of the easiest budget recommendations I’ve made in quite some time. If you can afford the RGB model, it’s absolutely worth the upgrade, but gamers looking to save money won’t feel like they’re compromising the experience in any meaningful way.

REVIEW SCORE: 8.5/10

Glorious made an impressive first impression in the gaming audio space by focusing on the fundamentals instead of unnecessary gimmicks. Both the GHS Eternal and GHS Eternal RGB deliver excellent comfort, enjoyable sound quality, dependable microphone performance, and broad platform compatibility at prices that significantly undercut much of the competition. The Eternal RGB is the model I’d personally recommend thanks to its floating suspension headband, USB functionality, software support, and tasteful RGB lighting, but the standard Eternal deserves just as much praise for delivering nearly the same core experience at an even lower price. That’s a difficult balance to achieve, and Glorious absolutely nailed it with its first gaming headset lineup.
