Back in the late Fall, Roka announced they were coming out with Wind Down Glasses. While they had blue light filter glasses for quite some time, these wind down lenses take the step of protecting your eyes even further. Do they work as good as they look?

How Do They Look?

If you have come across Roka’s site, they have a plethora of distinctive styles to choose from for their glasses. I wear prescription and I opted for the wind down glasses in their Rory frames in Matte Black. They are super lightweight and feel nice on my face. The sizes of the lenses do cover my view nicely as well. The stems(legs) of the glasses have no slip geko pads so they do not slip off your face. The lens themselves is red, anti-scratch and anti-reflective. An interesting feature of Roka is they come with swappable nose pads so you can have the perfect fit.

Do They Work?

So, it says these glasses are best to wear in the later hours and/or before you go to bed, preferably an hour before. I have followed this suggestion and will say I feel like the wind down glasses are doing the job. I tend to do work later in the hours and sit in front of my PC or on my phone and felt less strain or irritation on my eyes than usual. This is coming from someone that uses blue light filter glasses from another brand daily.

The only thing about wearing the wind down glasses is when you are looking at certain things remember they take out the blue and green light. So, things can look a bit crazy but its also expected.

Should You Get Them?

Roka creates a great pair of glasses, and I always appreciate the quality. As far as if should you get a pair of wind down glasses? I think if you are a person that spends hours, especially in the later part of the night looking at screens and having trouble sleeping you should try them.
