Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Unfortunately for him, his family has a generation-old ban on music. Not knowing why and anxious to prove his talent, Miguel with his companion dog Dante find themselves in the Land of the Dead. Along the way, they meet the charming trickster Hector voiced by Gael García Bernal and together they set off on one extraordinary journey to discover the real story behind Miguel’s family history. Co-Helming this adventure is Lee Unkrich who also tackled co-directing duties on Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc and Finding Nemo.
