As per usual with the iPhone 5, there definitely is no shortage of new and different cases available for it. Not only are established case makers coming out with new cases on regularly for it, but tons more new companies are coming out with cases for it as well. There’s everything from silicone cases to hard shell cases to leather cases, all available for the iPhone 5 and because of this, you’ll rarely ever really run into someone who has the same case as you. That’s one of the things I love about this really is the sheer variety of options. One new case manufacturer that is making its way to the US is SleekOnby Reverth. They are a big company over in Korea but this is their first venture here in the US. With SleekOn, they are coming out with their new Luminous Case for the iPhone 5. These are possibly the first glow-in-the-dark case I’ve seen on the iPhone 5.
The SleekOn Luminous Case is a hard shell, polycarbonate case that snaps on to the bottom of the iPhone 5. This is similar to many other snap on shell cases I’ve seen over the past few months which means that it will add very little bulk to the overall profile of your iPhone 5 and will provide just enough protection for every day normal usage. It will protect the rear an sides of the iPhone 5 but not the top and bottom edges as these are exposed. The top edges of the case however are ever so slightly raised so that when the iPhone 5 is placed face down, the screen will not touch the surface of the table.
Now again, what makes the SleekOn Luminous Case different from other hard shell cases is the glow-in-the-dark designs that are featured on the back of the case. These are printed designs using special ink that will glow-in-the-dark. Initially, there will be 16 designs, 8 designs for the white case and 8 designs for the black case. You’ll need to “charge” up the ink in the light first before they will glow, but once you do, they glow fairly brightly in the dark and for a good amount of time as well.
The SleekOn Luminous Case for the iPhone 5 isn’t really any different from other hard shell polycarbonate cases, but the glow-in-the-dark feature does help it stand out and if you’re one who enjoys the night life, these might be a fun thing to have that will definitely make you noticed in the dark.
