Looks like the action camera segment is really starting to heat up with each new player in the market trying to outdo the veterans. Of course for the consumers, this is great news as increased competition usually means more features and better value for us. With that said, one of the newest players in the market is the iON Action Camera which comes in several different flavors.
The base model is the iON Air Pro HD which will film video at full HD (1080p) recording, 170-degree wide angle lens, water-proof up to 30ft (without need of a bulky case), and still image capture 5mp at specific time intervals. The model I’m really interested in however is the iON Air Pro Plus WiFi which includes a ton of extra accessories as well as the WiFi Podz which allows you stream video in real time to your smartphone as well as being able to upload directly to social networks.
Another thing I like about the iON units are that they aren’t just plain gray boxes with no sense of style. These iON players actually look really good visually in both design and easy of use, featuring 1-touch operations.
