[singlepic id=699 w=320 h=240 float=left] If you have been following us this morning on our Twitter feed (@gstylemagazine) Then you know that today AT&T and RIM announced the Blackberry Torch (9800) with Blackberry 6.

First things first, I can’t say that I’m a fan of the name. The Blackberry Torch just doesn’t pop to me, but the device itself doesn’t look to bad. I was definitely on the fence from seeing it in pictures and videos, but up close and personal, it isn’t a bad looking device. It isn’t the most sexy device either, but it definitely isn’t hard on the eyes.

[singlepic id=696 w=320 h=240 float=right] The Blackberry 9800 aka Torch will be going on sale with AT&T on August 12th, which is literally next week Thursday. It will go on sale for $199.99 on a 2 year contract. The Torch is also shipping with Blackberry OS 6, which after spending some time with it in the demo area, was pretty nice. Will it stop people was thinking about IOS4 and Android 2.1 or 2.2, I doubt it. But if you are a Blackberry faithful, this is a nice step up from what you are use to.

Nice features that really stood out with me was Universal Search, Social Feeds, and the new Browser. These were very nice features. If you have a older device that will get the upgrade to OS 6, I would definitely upgrade the OS. Will the Blackberry Torch make me forget about my 9700, not really but it is still a very cool phone.

Check out some shots from the event in the Gallery and we are just waiting for one to be sent to us now so we can do a full review. Till then take care, and thanks for following!
