Sony MDR-3R retro on-ear headphones lifestyle shot

Retro has been kicking into full gear especially in the audio space the past few years. Vinyl records have become more popular and surprisingly there has been a trend of wired headphones coming back. Whether that’s because of popular shows such as Stranger Things or just to have that 80s-90s look, it’s noticeable.

Sony has realized this and is coming out with the MDR-3R. They might look familiar because they are a modern refresh of their MDR headphones that also paired up with their Walkman player back in 1979.

MDR-3R pulls everything from its very old predecessor such as the look and feel but adds features that can be utilized today such as USB-C connectivity, a mic for calls, and an in-line remote control.

But as I mentioned earlier with the worldwide popularity of Stranger Things pushing the 1980s, Sony made sure to have something for those fans as well. They are releasing a Stranger Things edition of the MDR-3R. This will feature red and black earpads, the Stranger Things logo and some cool designs that remind you of the Upside Down.
