EPOMAKER NEX Pro wireless gaming mouse and charging dock

Having spent time with gaming mice across different price ranges, I’m always interested in what a more affordable option can deliver. My setup gets used for gaming, writing, and content creation, so a mouse has to make sense beyond its specification sheet. EPOMAKER’s NEX Pro caught my attention with its ergonomic shape and included charging dock, alongside hardware aimed at players who take their inputs seriously.

I’ve been using it during my gaming sessions, where its $79.99 regular price puts the experience into perspective. The NEX Pro combines a PixArt PAW3950 sensor with optical switches and up to 8,000Hz polling. It also gives you Bluetooth and a wired connection, making it a fairly versatile addition to a desk.

Design and Build

I appreciate how straightforward the NEX Pro looks. The silver finish gives it some character without making the mouse visually overwhelming, and the right-handed shape keeps the focus on how you hold it. At approximately 65g, it occupies a comfortable middle ground for someone who wants a lightweight mouse with a full-bodied design.

The overall quality is a large part of why I like it at this price. Affordable peripherals can leave you feeling as though you’re settling before you’ve even started playing. That hasn’t been my overall takeaway here. EPOMAKER has put together a mouse that feels worth considering on its own merits, especially when you account for everything included.

The charging dock is a welcome part of that package. It gives the mouse a place to sit between sessions and doubles as its 2.4GHz receiver. I like that the dock serves an everyday purpose beyond looking good beside the keyboard. For a permanent desk setup, that convenience adds to the value.

Gaming Performance

The price-to-performance balance is what has impressed me most. The NEX Pro gives you the hardware and configuration options to take competitive gaming seriously without immediately committing to a much more expensive mouse. I don’t feel that an affordable purchase should automatically become the weak point in someone’s setup, and this is a good example of why it doesn’t have to.

There’s room to adjust sensitivity and lift-off distance around your preferences, while higher polling rates give you another setting to experiment with. I wouldn’t buy it simply because the box advertises 42,000 DPI or 8,000Hz. What matters is whether the mouse supports the way you play. My overall experience has been positive enough that I see this as a practical option for maintaining your skills while saving for something more extensive.

That’s particularly relevant for players building their setup a piece at a time. You may eventually want a different shape, more controls, or a more developed software ecosystem. The NEX Pro gives you a capable mouse to use in the meantime, and its value doesn’t disappear once you can afford an upgrade.

Battery and Wireless

Battery life was one area where my experience fell a little short of expectations. Depending on the gaming session, it seemed to drain roughly one to three hours sooner than I anticipated from the advertised figures. Those figures vary substantially with polling rate, so the headline maximum needs context. EPOMAKER’s 350-hour claim is at 125Hz, while its 8,000Hz claim is 50 hours.

I also experienced occasional wireless signal dropouts. That’s the more relevant concern for competitive play, where even an intermittent interruption deserves attention. It doesn’t erase how much I like the overall package, but it is something I would want improved before describing the wireless experience as completely dependable.

Firmware could potentially address power management or wireless stability, depending on what’s causing those issues. I would welcome that, although I’m judging the mouse as it works today. The included dock and wired option are useful conveniences; they don’t make those wireless shortcomings irrelevant.

REVIEW SCORE: 8.5/10

The NEX Pro delivers a great deal for its $79.99 regular price. Its quality, gaming features, and included dock make it an appealing purchase for someone who wants to keep their spending reasonable without giving up meaningful control over their inputs. I’ve enjoyed using it, and the value is easy to appreciate.

The battery shortfall and occasional wireless dropouts keep it from being an uncomplicated recommendation for every competitive player. Even so, I think it’s an excellent option for someone developing or maintaining their skills while saving toward a more extensive setup. EPOMAKER has made that middle ground feel worthwhile.
