After spending a couple of weeks with UGREEN’s MagFlow Pro 3-in-1, I came away impressed with how the company approached one of wireless charging’s biggest problems: heat. The MagFlow Qi2 25W 2-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charger comes from that same family, but it’s trying to solve a completely different problem. Rather than being the charging station I would permanently leave on my desk, this is the MagFlow I’d throw into my bag before leaving the house.
That’s really the appeal here. UGREEN has taken Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W on compatible devices, added a secondary wireless charging pad, and compressed everything into an incredibly small folding design. Like the 3-in-1, much of UGREEN’s marketing naturally favors Apple’s ecosystem, but I primarily used the charger with my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and had no problem taking advantage of its core functionality. The result is a simple product that doesn’t necessarily do anything revolutionary, but it executes its purpose extremely well.
Small Form Factor
The first thing that stands out about the MagFlow 2-in-1 Foldable is just how small it becomes when closed. At roughly half an inch thick and under four ounces, this isn’t one of those “portable” chargers that still occupies a significant amount of space in your bag. Fold it down and it essentially disappears into a tech pouch. Open it back up and the magnetic charging surface becomes an adjustable phone stand, allowing you to position a compatible phone vertically or horizontally while charging.
The folding mechanism itself feels sturdy enough that I never felt like I had to baby it, and the magnetic connection was reliable with my Galaxy S24 Ultra using the appropriate magnetic setup. The secondary 5W charging surface underneath can accommodate compatible earbuds, giving the charger its 2-in-1 functionality without dramatically increasing its footprint. It’s a clean and functional design that makes a lot of sense for travel. My biggest presentation-related complaint is something we see far too often with charging accessories: there’s no wall adapter included. UGREEN recommends a 45W or higher USB-C power supply to get the most from it, so you’ll need to provide your own.
Quite The Punch
The MagFlow 2-in-1 Foldable supports the newer Qi2.2 standard and can deliver up to 25W of magnetic wireless charging to compatible hardware. Actual output will depend on the device you’re using, so that 25W figure shouldn’t be interpreted as the charging rate every phone will receive. The secondary pad provides up to 5W for compatible earbuds, while the folding magnetic surface doubles as an adjustable stand. At approximately 2.36 x 2.96 x 0.52 inches when folded and weighing around 3.88 ounces, portability is arguably just as important to this product as its charging specifications.
One major difference between this and the MagFlow Pro 3-in-1 is thermal management. The Fold doesn’t include the Pro’s CryoPulse TEC active cooling system, which means you don’t get that genuinely cold charging surface I praised with the larger model. Instead, UGREEN relies on more conventional thermal monitoring and protection. I don’t necessarily see that as a major negative because these two chargers are designed for different purposes. Adding active cooling hardware, a fan, and a display would work against the Fold’s greatest strength: keeping the entire package as small, light, and simple as possible.
Great Performance
In actual use, that’s exactly why I’ve enjoyed the MagFlow Fold. There’s very little friction involved. Open it, connect USB-C power, place the phone against the magnetic surface, and you’re done. With my Galaxy S24 Ultra properly set up for magnetic attachment, alignment was consistent and the connection felt secure enough that I could interact with the phone while it remained on the stand. The hinge also held its position well, which is important because a folding charger isn’t particularly useful as a stand if touching the screen constantly changes its angle. Being able to rotate the phone horizontally also makes it useful for watching content while charging.
What separates it from the 3-in-1 isn’t better performance, but convenience. The MagFlow Pro 3-in-1 is the charger I’d rather have permanently sitting on my desk because of its display, active cooling, and additional charging functionality. The MagFlow 2-in-1 Foldable is the one I’d rather have with me. It provides the charging functionality I actually need while traveling without requiring me to dedicate much space to another accessory. That distinction makes the two products complement each other surprisingly well instead of making the Fold feel like a cheaper version of the Pro.
There are compromises. You lose the excellent active cooling of the Pro, there’s no integrated smartwatch charger, and UGREEN doesn’t include the 45W power adapter it recommends for maximum performance. Its strongest use case also remains tied to having devices that can properly take advantage of magnetic Qi2 charging. Still, I don’t think any of those compromises undermine what UGREEN was trying to accomplish. This isn’t supposed to replace a full desktop charging station. It’s supposed to take the parts of one you’re most likely to need and make them considerably easier to carry.
REVIEW SCORE: 8/10
The MagFlow 2-in-1 Foldable succeeds because UGREEN resisted the temptation to overcomplicate it. It’s small, sturdy, fast on compatible hardware, and genuinely portable. As someone using it with a Galaxy S24 Ultra rather than an iPhone, I also appreciate that the core experience remains useful outside the Apple ecosystem. Include a proper power adapter and the value proposition becomes even stronger, but as a compact charger that I can fold up and throw into my bag without thinking about it, there’s very little here that gets in the way of what it’s designed to do.
