FightCamp Tracker and Wrist Wraps on Leather Background

It’s been some time since we last saw FightCamp – a boxing gym you can keep in your living room – and they’ve definitely made some changes for the better. From a new console that allows for charging the punch/kick trackers to linking multiple accounts to a new, quieter, heavy bag, the FightCamp team has listened to their users. Here’s what they’ve got.

The Biggest Changes from FightCamp

One of the biggest changes from our first-look article is the addition of an Android app. That’s right. FightCamp is available for Android users, which is pretty standard nowadays. It’s a welcomed change, especially considering I’m one of the lone iOS-only users here at G Style Mag (it’s okay; one day they’ll get it).

Next up is the FightCamp Console, this new device allows the use of FightCamp’s workouts with a tv over an HDMI connection (you’ll also need an internet connection as well). Instead of having to rely on the small screen of your phone or tablet, you can enjoy your workout on your TV. It’s a small yet critical upgrade, as having used similar products, the workarounds to setting your phone or tablet in a place where it won’t potentially be sent flying by an errant punch or kick are lacking.

One of the initial shortcomings I found in version 1.0 of the FightCamp package was that you were limited to just one user at a time. While you could “share” an account, there was no way for you to track individual progress or workout together. As someone who struggles with workout consistency without having an accountability partner, this could be a potential dealbreaker. Thankfully, that’s no longer an issue – the new FightCamp starter package comes with four trackers that could be used with two pairs of gloves or, if you’re working out solo, with the new ankle wraps for kick tracking.

Lastly, the FightCamp team heard their users’ feedback on the heavy bag. The original FightCamp heavy bag was very similar to what you might find at your local gym—a leather/synthetic cover; it’s now replaced by a mesh cover that actually cuts down on the sound that your punches and kicks generate. This is a must-have if you have neighbors like in our small apartment.

FightCamp: 20 Minutes is All it Took

All of this is great to know but do you really get a solid boxing workout? Once again, I had the opportunity to try out the FightCamp starter package and see how I would fair against their 20-minute Power Punch workout, and it’s no joke. The workout starts with a 2-minute shadow boxing warmup and four 3-minute rounds of increasing intensity and glove work. The trackers were not only able to easily connect (I’ve never set up the system on my own before) but were also able to measure the speed and strength of the strike on the bag. After my sample workout, I was convinced that I needed to hit the gym more regularly, and the FightCamp experience is a great way to do it.

Pricing and Availability

It’s “new year, new me” season, and I get it; there’s nothing like trying to better yourself and your health or simply getting more active. That’s why the biggest change in the FightCamp revamp is the starting price – right now, you can purchase the Starter Package for $799 (currently a $200 discount and nearly $300 less than its launch price). The price of entry includes: the Console and 4 Trackers, Quick Wraps (1 pair), Boxing Bag and Bag Ring (stand), Boxing Gloves, Ankle Wraps (1 pair), and a Heart Rate monitor. It all ships for free and gives you a 30-day trial of the Workout App. Ready to get in the ring? Hit the link to order yours now. [FightCamp]
