OnePlus is finally going truly wireless… with their headphones. After seeing the Bullets for quite some time the wires have been completely severed and we are getting the simply named “Buds”.
Buds are looking to fall in the category of OnePlus’ smartphones by being affordable but packing a great deal of impressive tech. A brief run down shows us 30 hours of battery life, Warp Charging and the ability to use them continuously for 7hrs without having to recharge the case. a 10min charge gets you 10 hours of listening time.
Other features are Dolby Atmos and Dirac Sound support when used with OnePlus phones, IPX4 water resistance and environmental noise cancelling.
Unlike the also announced OnePlus Nord, the OnePlus Buds will be available worldwide and at a price under $100. Sales look to start on July 27, 2020.
OnePlus will also be pushing out updates to the OnePlus 6,7 and 8 Series next week to provide support for the OnePlus Buds such as:
- Dolby Atmos Support (OP7 and OP8 series only)
- Ability to customize double-tap functions to:
- Pause/play
- Skip to the next and previous tracks
- Answer/end call
- Activate voice assistant
- Automatic OTA updates
