Right before the start of New York Comic Con, we got the chance to sit down with Vincent Monnier, Gameplay Director and Jason Dozois, Narrative Director of “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” to talk about the first DLC here called “The Forge” as well as others coming up in the Season Pass.  SotTR team wanted to take a slight different approach in regards to DLC and make them part of the overall story rather than just random missions at the end of the game.

For instance DLC adventures can take place and open up while you are in the midst of the game if you haven’t already breezed through it(which you most likely have). If so you can always access them from the “Challenge Tombs” option on the main menu. Also with these new adventures you don’t have to brave them alone as you can do them via co-op. There is Exploration modes, and something like a Time Attack mode which is intriguing.

Me and my colleague Mike grabbed some controllers and headsets and tried out “The Forge” content and it was pretty fun to say the least. We got to navigate some find them things which became easier having four pair of eyes instead of two. We traveled a good way into the tomb(or so I think) and ended up stuck on one part dying over and over. I can see endless hours on the mic trying to argue where to go and how to get things done.

What’s interesting about the co-op is you both play as Lara but your partner will see you as someone else. Costumes can be selected as well as weapons for your mission.

I look forward to playing online with friends searching for treasure than the possible battle multiplayer others are looking for.  You can learn more about the first DLC “The Forge” below with pricing of $4.99 standalone or included in the Season Pass on November 13th.
