After many years in development with James Cameron himself planning to direct, time elapsed and having to choose between making “Alita” or the “Avatar” Sequels Cameron handed the project off to Rodriguez.
Based on the famous 90’s manga series “Battle Angel Alita” (GUNNM in Japan) by Yukito Kishiro. “Alita: Battle Angel” is a post-apocalyptic twenty-sixth century, surrounding a discarded cyborg who’s lost all her memories.
During this weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con, 20th Century Fox hosted a scavenger hunt called “Alita: Battle Angel – Pillars of Iron City Search at SDCC” Many lucky fans were able to attend the panel and see exclusive footage as well as this brand new trailer.
This morning James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez, Jon Landau, and Rosa Salazar hosted the Global Trailer Debut, as well as a Live Q&A session.
