Around this time last year Marvel kicked off Phase Three of their Marvel Cinematic Universe with the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War trailer on Jimmy Kimmel live. Continuing that trend and certainly going all-out, Marvel brings us the world premiere trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. The first entry was easily one of my favorite films of 2014 (see review here). No one expected the film to be as entertaining as it was. It didn’t require you to know the characters from the comic source or be a fan of any of the other Marvel movies. With the trailers painting a similar experience in terms of entertainment, the expectations on this sequel are pretty high. In this trailer we get just a tease of what our heroes will be facing. The main villain of this film, Ayesha played by Elizabeth Debicki, more humor and of course, a bit more Baby Groot. By the end of the trailer we finally learn who Kurt Russell plays. For those listening, the trailer is set against Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”, possibly another entry into the Awesome Mixtape Vol. 2?
