Today is the day that HTC will be showing off their new HTC 10 flagship phone. Now while we have a few hours before we and other members of the press will be huddled into a space to check it out; we have combed over the specs list and have a few things that you should be excited about. This is not the say that once we see the phone in person and use it that we will feel the same way. But now on paper here are 5 reasons you should have your eye out for the HTC 10 today.
It Will Be Using Type-C USB

Let’s face it Type-C is coming and will probably be coming in a big way as time goes on. While if your new to Type-C it will be a pain while you build up your collection, now is the time to do so. The new HTC 10 will use Type-C for charging and that is a good thing! For one no longer will you have to worry about which way your cable is facing to plug it in. Yea that last night in the dark struggle is over! But with faster data transfer and being able to power device to/from using Type-C, having it on-board the HTC 10 is perfect!
It Has Android Marshmallow Baked In
This is important. Most new phones releasing this year will have it, so this is especially important to make sure any phone you buy this year has Marshmallow. Some key features of Android 6.0 and one I love is the Doze feature. This feature really helps you save your battery when you’re not really using it. Another feature and will come in handy with the HTC 10 is Android 6.0’s adoptable storage feature. The HTC 10 will support MicroSD cards of up to 2TB and with adoptable storage you can set up your SD card as internal storage, and store applications, your data, and media on an adopted SD card. So if you was looking to get that 32GB model to save a little money, you would be able to augment it with a MicroSD as well. Not every phone now-a-days still has support for MicroSD, so this is a feature to have!
The Camera Is Looking On Point
HTC has made a few design sexy phones in the last couple of years, but the camera no matter what they have tried has always been a pain point. Well it looks like HTC is trying to really knock that one out of the park this time around. So far it looks like (on paper) that the HTC 10’s camera looks to be on par with the new Samsung Galaxy S7. With a 12MP Ultrapixel + OIS, f/1.8 lens for the main camera, and a 5MP Ultrapixel + OIS on the front; this time around HTC may have finally did their phone some camera justice!
Those Other Specs Are Contenders
HTC hasn’t left anything on the table this time around. On the guts inside we have a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, with a 3000 mAh battery. With all the software tweaks, HTC is claiming two days on a charge. There we have a 5.2-inch QHD Super LCD 5, with NFC, and something HTC is calling HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition. While the front facing speakers seem to be gone, we’ll see if this lives up to the hype!
Now again this is on paper. The specs sound good, and the pictures look great. But will we feel the same once we see it in person and get use to it? Stay tuned as we go live at the event tonight!
