HBO’s Westworld [Teaser Trailer]

Teaser Trailer of the HBO Mini-Series:
Westworld, 2016
Sci-Fi, Western, Thriller

Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden and Ed Harris

Geek Facts:

HBO’s Westworld is based on the Michael Crichton novel and 1973 sci-fi film of the same name. If his name sounds a little familiar, it should. Did I mention Crichton is also the author and creator of “Jurassic Park”?

What’s it about?

Westworld is a futuristic American Old West theme park, inhabited by artificial intelligent robots. The guests get to live out adventures and in some cases their most depraved fantasies. In the original film, the park starts to experience some abnormalities and the robots go on the hunt for the guests. I’m seeing some similarities here. Now, this series has a lot going for it. For one, the series is being headlined by Jonathan Nolan, screenwriter of “The Dark Knight trilogy” and creator of the hit TV series, “Person of Interest”. It’s also being developed by executive producers Jonathan Nolan, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and Lisa Joy. If you’ve ever seen any of the most recent Star Trek, Million Impossible Films and/ or maybe the TV Series Burn Notice, those guys. It’s clear that HBO is looking to expand their brand and bring something new, different and thrilling to their audiences. Just based on this teaser, we may have something else to look forward to other than Game of Thrones in 2016.
