Lincoln recently unveiled the Continental Concept at an event on Monday evening and at the New York International Auto Show on April 1st, but trust this was no joking matter. The Lincoln Continental Concept signaling an all-new full-size sedan coming next year and the future of quiet luxury for the company. As mentioned by Mark Fields, Ford Motor Company president and CEO “The Continental Concept showcases the promise of quiet luxury from Lincoln going forward. It also is a strong sign of what’s to come next year as we introduce our Lincoln Continental full-size luxury sedan.”

“The Lincoln Continental name is associated with iconic beauty and elegance,” said David Woodhouse, Lincoln design director. “Capturing those qualities and building upon them drove us as we crafted this thoroughly modern sedan concept.” If this is the case, I say first hand that the design team has done an amazing job with this concept. The Lincoln Continental Concept is an amazingly stunning sedan and will place itself as the flagship of the brand. When it comes to concept cars I generally have a love/hate relationship with this. Car companies show off these great very designed cars, only to never see them make it to the production side. When speaking with Lincoln I’ve been told that while concepts are somewhat design over the top, Lincoln plans to bring as much as possible from the concept to the production version that will be out next year.

I for one am looking forward to seeing this go into production. With its Lincoln-exclusive 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine, patented 30-way seats and premium Revel audio system (which sounds phenomenal by the way), this is one Lincoln car to have on the watch list!
