Style
If you liked the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth, then guess what, you’re going to like the 2013 edition. The same good looks are present and Fiat hasn’t seen fit to tinker or mess anything up in the name of improvement. Though I didn’t get the same level of people asking me about the car, I don’t think it was because the car doesn’t look as good. The Fiat 500’s have gotten a little more popular now and as such people are more used to seeing them more often. But what a good looking car the Fiat 500 Abarth makes. If you are looking for a mini car that is good on gas and easy to park, while looking good, you could do no wrong with this one.
Tech
Again just like last year’s model, the Fiat 500 Abarth isn’t what I would call a tech mecca. There is Bluetooth connectivity and some basic tech features. However one huge change in my opinion is the swap out of the BOSE system for one by Beats Audio! If you remember my comments on the sound system of last year’s model (or took a peek as I linked it above), the audio was only okay on last year’s model. The inclusion of Beats Audio has made a world of difference for the Fiat 500 Abarth. The sound quality is much better, Beats definitely brings value tot he Fiat 500 Abarth.
Listening to music was a pleasant and I was able to get some good sounds even when the windows were open. The Abarth with Beats is a great pair and if you were thinking about buying this car, be sure to make sure it has Beats in the package!
Experience
To return to the car in which I learned how to drive manual driving was a joy. This time around gone was the awkward learning curve. The Fiat 500 Abarth is a peppy fun car to drive. I loved zipping around corners, and generally dipping in and out as I moved along. With the addition of the Beat Audio, overall the car was very cool.
Wrap Up
The 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth improves on last year’s old. Switches out the audio system for one that is better in my opinion, and maintains what was cool about the car in the first place. The loaner we had clocked in price wise at $27,100. A little more than I expected, but if the Abarth model isn’t for you, you always have the base model which is in the 15K range to start.
If you are looking for a small car that is good on gas, great for parking, and fun to drive through Fiat 500 Abarth is a contender!
