If you are a diehard Metal Gear Solid fan like myself, I recommend you head over to Konamistyle, the official Japanese e-shop for video game producer Konami as soon as possible. They are accepting pre-orders for a number of limited-edition Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance packages and in particular, an exclusive PlayStation 3 console.

The Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Zandatsu (Japanese for ‘cut and take’) Package includes the sleek-looking custom-skin PS3 pictured to the right along with a 250GB hard drive, one custom-skin Dual Shock 3 controller, a copy of the game naturally, a custom PlayStation 3 theme download, and a download code for the “Cyborg Ninja” character skin. Konami is also giving some other retailers a code for a Cyborg Ninja body armor as well. While you can get the White Armor from Konamistyle, the Inferno Armor is from Tsutaya, and the Command Armor is from Japanese retailer GEO.

The downloadable code is an early buyer bonus for the regular and special editions of Metal Gear Rising: Revengance only right now. As you’ve guessed, these skins are seemingly Japan exclusives for right now, though the PS3 will still work with your American PS3 games. Keep your eyes peeled however, since the DLC skins are bound to make their way stateside in one form or the other but in the mean time if you need a new PlayStation 3, you absolutely can’t go wrong with this one. The console package retails for 31,960 yen (about US$389) and will be available February 21, 2013.

If though, you are only looking into buying the game itself, consider the “Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Premium Package Konami Style Special Edition.” For 12,980 yen (US$158), the package includes the game itself, the soundtrack in an exclusive steel book-case, an art book, two magnetic Kogekk? figurines, and a limited edition White Armor Version Raiden figure by PlayArts. A similar package without the Raiden figure retails for 9,980 yen (US$121). Both are also available on February 21.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles in North America on February 19, 2013. With the recent announcement of Metal Gear Ground Zeroes, and the speculated Metal Gear Solid 5 disguised as The Phantom Pain at Spike TV’s VGAs Ten, we are all in need of Metal Gear fix.
