I posted up about the FujiFilm X-E1 last week when all the leaked photos began to surface. There were no specs and with only a few leaked photos of the camera, there wasn’t much information to go by. Well, it seems that FujiFilm has officially announced that X-E1 and I must say, it’s a very attractive and appealing camera with a few surprises here and there.
For starters, the X-E1 will include a built-in electronic viewfinder which wasn’t apparent in the leaked photos. From the official photos, you can see now that FujiFilm has included one as part of the build. I also really love the fact that FujiFilm didn’t skimp on the buttons and dials which allows for more functionality without having to fumble though the OS.
The main appeal for me however is how awesome this camera looks. In fact, I dare say that this camera looks even better than the Olympus OM-D EM-5 in terms of looks. It has FujiFilm’s signature retro look in a much smaller package than the X-PRO1 and at a much cheaper price point. The FujiFilm X-E1 will retail for about $1000 (body only) which is a decent price for a camera of this nature.
