In a world that has been dominated by tablets can notebooks make a comeback? Asus feels it can with its classy metallic design, but will this make consumers want to go out and buy this notebook?

Design

The Asus K53E has a nice metallic design, the black top gives it a nice Chic and sexy look the 15.6 inch HD screen is not the brightest thing I’ve seen but it still has that nice crisp look to it. The weight on the K53E is 5.73lbs not too bad but is still a little too heavy for me to carry around.

On the right side on the netbook you have a USB port, HDMI port, Ethernet port, and your power plug, On your left you have your headphone jack, microphone port, two USB ports and your DVD drive (Blu-Ray DVD Combo is optional).

Hardware

Asus K53E has a Core i5-2520M 2.5GHz Processor running at 2.3GHz and backed up by 4GB RAM , Intel HD Graphics and a 0.3-megapixel webcam, you also have 3D graphics I tried the graphics using photos and videos which came out pretty good. Performance was quick and pleasant with general computing tasks I experienced quick loading times and very little pausing when switching between tabs during multitasking.

While having two tabs on and watching a movie the battery lasted for about 3 hours if I just surfed the web I got 4 hours before I had to plug it in. The Keyboard is to my liking its high and the keyboard is nicely spread across the body .

IceCool Technololgy makes your PC cool and comfortable even during the longest computing sessions. Exclusive dual-sided motherboard design places hot components on the underside and away from users. Combined with heat pipes and vents, palm rests and typing surfaces stay cooler.

Genuine Windows 7 Starter comes with the Asus K53E notebook, but you can easily upgrade to any Windows 7 operating system.

Overall

The Asus K53E is a great Notebook for its price, it proved to be a very strong notebook ,the ASUS K53E notebook does have some limitations though as it’s not the perfect notebook.

For a 15.6-inch laptop I found the 1366×768 screen resolution to be lacking. The speakers on the notebook were awful if I put it too loud it became muffled and couldn’t hear a thing. If you’re looking at this notebook to be used for gaming, it’s not, but it is a good notebook for just basic day to day work and the price is great.

Would I pick this notebook up? For $349.99 and with a Core i5-2520M 2.5GHz Processor Hell yeah, it may have some flaws but this a great price for a strong notebook.

Price:$349.99
