Ethnotek Laptop Compatible Travel Backpack – Get The Bag, That Gives Back

The newest fashion trends we saw last week during New York’s Fashion Week as well we’re seeing this week in London’s Fashion Fashion Week is “Ethnic Patterns”. So here’s your way to make a difference, be “green” and be in style while carrying all the gadgets needed for the day.

PRINTED-GHANA 4 THREADâ„¢ + LAPTOP COMPATIBLE TRAVEL BACKPACK, made by Ethnotek. Enthotek actually means study of cultures and the tech that society has developed to facilitate solutions to its problems. Great name for the company. There are several “threads” offered, being from Ghana I’m focusing on that “thread” offered for this post. All threads in the line are limited edition since they are handmade from community artists from country threads comes from.

Style
The laptop compatible ETK-PACK is made from 840-denier ballistic nylon and includes a handmade block-printed THREAD from Ghana, Africa. You can interchange the “threads” from the collection. Every bag is handmade and is sourced in-person and purchased directly from the artisan or craft village in which it originated.

The bags have a right-side pocket for small accessories and left-side mesh pocket for a water bottle. The laptop compartment holds a 15″-17″ laptop. With the airmesh feature on back, it helps vent heat to reduce the a sweaty back. The shoulder straps are padded and adjustable.

Main compartment is accessed via the giant waterproof roll-top. The roll-top can be snapped shut, rolled down and buckled down with a heavy-duty 38mm snap-buckle for maximum security. Roll-top functionality also allows for height adjustability accommodating a minimally packed inner volume all the way to fully loaded maximized volume.

The main bag is 11.5″ x 19″ x 7″, with laptop compartment: 11″ x 17″ x 1.5″. Without anything is the bag it weights 2.6lbs, which I think is a bit heavy starting out.

Overall
Stylish, carries pretty much anything you’ll need for a long day or weekend out. Good for city treks or weekend getaways. Although it’s on the heavy side, being a backpack instead of messenger back it doesn’t seem so heavy once you get going for the day. Plus it doesn’t bulk out too far once on back so you won’t be bumping into a lot of people with it. I say great style and great for conferences to store everything you need. Plus you’re supporting international artists, economies and being green all at once.
