1st Day of Christmas

Just in time for holiday parties in the office and holiday nightlife including the huge NYE celebrations, us girls just love to attend. We love to fill our Facebook pages and other social networking sites with photos from times we had out and about the town. So what do we need first, that’s right a camera that fits in a clutch.

Canon S-95

Sleek with a black body (although this model is a bit on the less slimline size at a weight of 6.00 oz), “point and shoot” gives you a lot of control over how you how including movie clips. Starting with a 10.1mp sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor (The S95 has a processor that is in its DSLRs like the 5D Mk II, 60D and T2i); an f/2.0-4.9 28-105mm (equivalent) zoom lens, an intuitive manual-control ring, and Hybrid IS 2-way image stabilization system. There are many shooting modes to choose from, and RAW + JPEG capability too. Starting to sound like your bulky though beloved, SLR that doesn’t fit in your clutch?

Not only can you capture photos from ISO 80 up to ISO 3200 (ISO 3200 in manual; 12,800 in auto mode), you can choose the degree of control you want (from total manual to total automatic) over exposure, white balance, focus, and more, from an extensive menu. You can automatically produce High Dynamic Range, panoramic, fisheye, low-light and many more specialized photos with built-in programs. The S95 allows 26 shooting modes including 18 special scene modes for creating more “artistic” looks to your digital photos.

For shooting video clips, Canon S-95 shoots HD video 720p at 24p in stereo sound and play back on an HDTV via the HDMI output. Movie-shoot in HD (1280 x 720 at 24 fps) for up to 25 minutes and 8 seconds, or 4GB per clip. Shoot in VGA (640 x 480 at 30 fps) for up to 43 minutes and 43 seconds, or 4GB per clip, or QVGA (320 x 240 at 30 fps) for up to 1 hour, 58 minutes and 19 seconds, or 4GB per clip.

One of the best photo features for times when you do just want to relax and go full-auto with the camera is the Smart AUTO. The camera automatically selects the best shooting settings for optimal quality based on subjects and environmental factors to provide point-and-shoot simplicity. This is a great feature for quick action shots (tree lighting, toasts, spotting celebs holiday shopping, gift opening-anything where standing and poising isn’t available).

This model is perfect for anybody from professional with it’s manual shooting options and for the everyday shooter who just wants great photos and short movie clips to remember the holiday season. The Canon S-95 runs around 399.00 in most retail stores.
