This past week, I saw “The Game Plan”, which came out on DVD, and Blue-Ray. It stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a pro football player named Joe Kingsman, who is living the american dream. He is the star quarterback of his team, and is one of the greatest players to ever play the game. He has a state of the art bachelor pad, and he’s the star of one of the biggest burger chains commercial ads. He has woman all around him, and he loves his lifestyle. Till one day there’s a knock at his door, and to his surprise it’s an 8 year-old girl named Peyton, played by Madison Pettis, who says she’s his daughter. From this point on Joe’s life is turned upside down as she tells him she will be staying with him for a month, while her mother is away. This is a great family movie, that will be enjoyed by all. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shows that he can carry a comedy movie all on his own, which is a good look for him, so he won’t just be typecasted in action movies. Madison Pettis, is outstanding as the 8 year old daughter. Her smile brightens up the screen, and she’s very lovable in this picture. The movie also stars Kyra Sedwick as Joe’s Manager, whos’ all about keeping his image untainted, and making him more money. Also in the movie is Roselyn Sanchez, who plays a ballet teacher, and Morris Chestnut who plays one of Joe’s closest friends, and teammate. If you have kids and are looking for a good, funny, heartwarming film, or your just a “Rock” fan, go buy or rent this movie. You won’t be disappointed.
