We finally have the title and release date for the next COD game and its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Infinity Ward will be taking the reigns developing it and will be centered around global confilct regarding the Korean Peninsula. You won’t just stay there as you will be hitting up areas such as New York, Paris, Mumbai, etc via Campaign. It looks to be more grounded, darker and grittier with its storyline.

Multiplayer delivers grounded, precise combat, built around fluid movement that provides greater control than ever before. Multiplayer introduces Ballistic Authority, a new weapons-first innovation that brings the most authentic Modern Warfare gunplay yet. Modern Warfare 4 will launch with 12 Core maps, spanning visually distinct locations around the world, plus Kill Block, a new and dynamic battleground that reconfigures its layout between rounds across more than 500 configurations.

DMZ returns as the definitive Call of Duty extraction experience, dropping solo players and squads into a shifting combat zone where every deployment plays out differently. Additional details for DMZ will drop on June 7.
Modern Warfare 4 is built with a renewed focus on PC players, with Infinity Ward and Beenox partnering to give more control over performance, visual fidelity, responsiveness, and customization on PC. Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026 on XBOX Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and for the first time, Nintendo Switch 2.
As far as pre-orders there will be two versions of Modern Warfare 4 with a Standard Edition and a Vault Edition.
