A universal issue with using earbuds is either misplacing the case or forgetting to charge them up. Well, Komutr looks to fix both those concerns with its Wireless MagSafe Earbuds. But just how good do they work?
Style
The Komutr Earbuds don’t even look like a wireless earbuds case and is reminiscent more of a battery pack or even MagSafe wallet. This so easily secures to the back of your iPhone (or compatible MagSafe smartphone). Komutr comes in two colors of Black or Warm Cream.

The earbuds are pipe style like other earbuds and have touch control functionality on them. You can tap on them various times for play controls and other options if customized in the app.

Komutr does not specify how much the case weights, but each earbud is about 3.9g. The case though is 12mm thick giving it a slim profile. Also, the case and earbuds are comprised of plastic. It’s noticeable that the device overall does feel inexpensive but that has also helped with its pricing which hovers around $99 on their website. It has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Features
To keep the case nice and secure with your iPhone it uses N54 neodymium magnets. This case does not move an inch. Even if you hold it upside down, the door doesn’t open and when you do open the case, the earbuds are in and they won’t fall out thanks to additional magnets inside. Komutr has included Apple Find My with this device in case you happen to misplace it.

The case has a 600mAh battery which can be charged via the USB-C port or of course via the wireless MagSafe charging. This solves the issue of having to plug your case in somewhere and possibly forgetting it while on the go.
Sound
These earbuds feature 8mm drivers and are touting a 20Hz to 20KHz frequency range. They have nice bass and some clarity in vocals but just feel they are missing details. You can mess around with the EQs settings on the apps to see if something would suit you better though.
Experience
I have used these on various occasions and it’s quite interesting to have everything in this little case. Not worrying about losing it and using it as a kickstand at the same time. It’s slated to give you 7hrs of playback from the earbuds and six extra charges from the case. I don’t ever notice them dying out, especially doing wireless charging with my iPhone. But sometimes you must remember to turn off Bluetooth when not in use. I have seen where these stay on for hours without usage and they don’t have any sensors so taking them out your ears and putting them back in the case I have seen them still playing music.

Active Noise Cancelling is not too bad as they fit in my ears nicely with its silicone tips and help isolate noise. It is not the best ANC, but it is very reasonable.
The accompanying app is a bit clunky and could be organized and labeled better making it easier to find features on there.
This MagSafe earbuds case is best suited for iPhones. Trying to use it with other smartphones like my Galaxy S26 Ultra can be hit or miss and that solely falls on what kind of case you are using.
Verdict

Komutr MagSafe Earbuds provides a solution to a problem you think other tech companies would have figured out years ago with its impressive magnetic case functionality. I never felt I would lose or misplace the earbuds / case which is a plus. Battery life is cool since it uses wireless charging anyway. To me, the audio is not the best but there is room for improvement. Alongside this being Komutr first attempt at this I would love to see what else they can produce in the future.
