We are still reviewing all that we saw at this year’s CES 2026, and there are definitely several categories we can’t wait to explore further and review products for this year. While I thought smart glasses and Android XR devices would be more present this year (and there were quite a few companies showing off some items), the category I didn’t expect to be so robust was the lawnmower space!
This year, it seems like every company has one coming! As we walked the show floor, there was heavy representation for upcoming robotic lawn mowers. As we checked them out, we noticed some shift in the technology that will make reviewing them more interesting this year. Here’s a recap of what we seen so far from CES 2026.
New Navigation Technology To Be Used
Last season, as we reviewed several different robotic lawnmowers, the category seemed to be of two camps: those who used some form of camera vision as the primary method and those who used RTK. Both had their merits, but annoyances. With RTK, you had one extra step in figuring out where and how to mount this for the best signal, and with pure camera vision, while providing a less time-consuming setup, it didn’t handle well if you wanted to mow at night.

This year, however, LiDAR has seemed to become the gold standard. Many models have now embraced LiDAR, offering the advantage of quicker setup, and still the ability to mow at night. Many companies now offer solid-state 180° LiDAR, and a few even have 360° LiDAR similar to the kind used by autonomous vehicles. Some of those companies using 360° LiDAR were our current favorite Mammotion (we can’t wait to review these this season), and another company we saw for the first time this year, NexLawn. We’ll definitely be eager to see how this helps the experience for models coming out this year!
Bring Traction or Go Home!

Last season, there were 3 main types of propulsion we saw. 3 wheels (two main wheels in the back, 1 or 2 caster-type wheels in the front), some 4 wheels with some AWD models, and threads. This year looked like a lot more companies focused on 4WD and Threads. With companies like GOKO, Mammotion, and NexLawn in the 4WD camp, and companies like Lymow and Yarbo in the Thread camps. Both have their merits. Our current favorite Mammotion did an amazing job with its AWD model, the Luba Mini, which we reviewed (you can read it here). While the models with the caster wheels are still present for smaller, uncomplicated lawns, it is good to see more come out that will address and focus on active suspension, speed optimization across uneven lawns, and the ability to confidently scale steeper inclines
Best Ways To Cut
One thing we learn as we really ramped up our review of robotic lawnmowers last season was that the majority of them used a system with a razor blade on a cutting disc to mow your lawn. This was something we didn’t realize prior. And while these systems from the models we have reviewed have done an amazing job with just razor blades and maintaining your yards, now all can handle much deeper grass or overgrown grass to an extent. We were only aware of one model that uses a mulching blade with the company called Lymow (which we didn’t get a chance to review last season).

It is good to see that this upcoming season, there will be many choices in how you want to maintain your yard. Cutting approaches will be split into two camps:
- Spinning cutting decks, used by Mammotion, NexLawn, and most of the category
- Mulching blades (similar to traditional push mowers), seen on Lymow and GOKO
Some of these companies, like Yarbo, will even provide you with options for which one you want to use with your system. So it will be interesting to see this season, which of the camps might be better for you, and just having options is always great!
What Are We Looking Forward To This Year
With tons of choices this season, there are many companies we are hoping to get a review unit for this season (so if you are reading, hit us up or be on the lookout for an email!). To name a few, here is what is on our short list of ones we hope to review this year!

- Mammotion – During CES 2026, we took a look at their Luba Mini 2 AWD and their Luba 3. As our current favorite, we’ll be interested to see if this season they will hold on to that title.
- Yarbo – They announced a new M-Series line, which brings a smaller, more affordable product to the market. With a smaller design, new technology, and new modules to go along with this series, we’re interested to see how they’ve taken what they have learned with the OG model and applied it to this series for the better.
- GoKo – A new company we seen this year, their Goko M6 had that CyberTruck look we showed off in one of our CES recap videos, and beyond the looks, they’re bringing a rugged, next-generation autonomous robotic mower capable of tackling up to 90% slopes, clearing obstacles up to 75 mm, and mowing up to one acre on a single charge. Their M6 also has an expandable dual-battery system, so if you need extra power to keep on going, you can.
- NexLawn – Another first time seeing for us. NexLawn is the premium outdoor robotics brand from MOVA Group. They have introduced some models we are definitely interested in seeing. Some slick-looking designs, the VIDAR 3200 AWD and VIDAR 800, and the NAVIA 6000 AWD are models we hope to check out.
- Lymow – Last is the one we didn’t get to check out last season. Now they have the Lymow One Plus, which debuts a grass-lifting airflow system with reinforced SK5 blades that let it function as both a mower and a blower, along with improved obstacle avoidance and weather (fog and sun) resilient sensors. We’ll see if missing it last season makes for a “worth the wait” moment this season!
So this is our short list, but there are tons of companies this year that will have great models out, including Segway, Eufy, Sunseeker, and more. Do you have an eye out for a robotic mower this year? Share with us any brands you might want us to check out.
