In an age dominated by glowing screens, protecting our eyes from digital blue light is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. Enter the GUNNAR Tioga, a pair of blue light glasses that promises to blend cutting-edge optics with high-end style. The Tioga features a sophisticated frame crafted from high-quality Italian acetate and lightweight carbon fiber strengthened wood, setting it apart from typical eyewear. They house distortion-free, scratch-resistant mineral glass lenses with GUNNAR’s patented G-Shield Premium Plus coating, designed to block harmful blue light and 100% UV.

DESIGN

The GUNNAR Tioga is part of their Mythic Performance Level Purity Collection, which means it is crafted and engineered with the finest optical-grade materials available. In this case, the frame features high-quality Italian-sourced, acetate, lightweight carbon fiber-strengthened wood, flexible spring hinges, and mineral glass lenses.

The version we got features Gray Crystal acetate with Walnut wood. It’s very stylish looking and features a classic design that will never get old.

The lenses we got with these are the 20 GBLF Clear Pro for unparalleled fidelity and color rendition. The mineral glass used means that they offer exceptional durability, being scratch and shatter-resistant.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The GUNNAR Tioga is a truly premium entry in the world of computer eyewear, easily earning its “Mythic Performance Level” designation. The optics are outstanding, offering superb clarity and effective blue light protection.

However, the one factor to carefully consider is the fit. With a frame width that leans toward the smaller end of the spectrum (133 mm total frame width, which GUNNAR typically classifies as suitable for an “Average Face” but on the snug side), the Tioga felt noticeably narrow on my head.

Ultimately, the GUNNAR Tioga is an exceptional piece of eyewear, providing a top-tier visual experience and an elegant, durable design.
