We have been rocking with Ecovacs for quite some time now and over the years they have increasingly improved on their robovacs. In what could be considered their most important release to date is the Deebot X9 Pro OMNI. It switches out rotating mops for a singular long rolling mop, boasts a new BLAST system, and advanced AI to get all the dirt out from areas.

Setup

For starters I was amazed how small this package was compared to other Ecovacs iterations and brands. Unboxing the X9 Pro OMNI was easy, consisting of me removing the robovac, station, and power plug. Starting off with the robovac everything was assembled and I just had to remove the foam padding in between the robo bumper and protective tape. With the station it just needed to have the tray attached and removing all the protective plastics. After that I was just plugging the station up to power.

Since I already been using Ecovacs, all I had to do was load up the app and search for new device and it came up. Prompting me with an update which is great. While doing that I looked at the dual buckets for dirty and clean water. I filled the clean water portion up. They seemed significantly smaller than previous models and wondered if they would do the job. I sent the X9 Pro OMNI on its first adventure and was quite surprised at the results.

Rolling Mops are the Wave

When mopping was introduced to robovacs they mostly utilized single or dual rotating mops. While they did the job and served its purpose these OZMO Roller mops take it to the next level. They clean on the go and from watching the X9 mop around leave less residue and mess. They also seem to do better with utilizing water and completing its task. With other robovacs including Ecovacs I have seen them go back and forth emptying and refilling water, but it was not as necessary here. Also, the mop extends out to the side to help get some of these edges and corners with great precision. It also uses AI Instant Re-Mop going over a spot over and over and recognizing the level of care needed. The sound of the roller mop extending in and out at times over and over can get annoying. X9 Pro handles tasks like going over carpets easily lifting its rolling mop up without issue.

BLAST away!

X9 Pro OMNI is snatching every crumb in its path but still being mindful of its surroundings. Using what Ecovacs calls BLAST (Boosted Large-Airflow Suction Technology). It is backed by a high powered 6400 mAh battery and strong high torque motor alongside 16,600Pa suction power. There is a new ZeroTangle 3.0 Anti-Tangle tech on here but luckily, I don’t have to deal with that too much. I do have wires under my couch I forgot to pick up, but it nicely avoided them and didn’t vacuum them up at all thanks to its Vision AI/3D sensors. Its mapping of my household was immaculate. It created a nice colorful graph and sectioned each part nicely.

Station Cleaning

Once X9 Pro OMNI finished it goes back to the station and empties itself, cleans the mop, and uses 145 degrees of hot air drying. Looking at the debris and dirty water I was amazed how sufficient this robovac really is. Speaking of cleaning there is a compartment inside the station which can be filled with cleaning solutions. It goes into the water tank for mop cleaning and active water cleaning. I do think for the price of this robovac they could easily include it with this.

Fun Stuff with the X9 Pro

Going through the options I saw the camera on the X9 Pro that can be used via the Live View section. You can watch it and see the robovac in action as it moves around cleaning. You can even take pictures and record videos. More interestingly you can remote control it via the app and look around. There is an even a voice function if you want to “call” from it perhaps while awhile or in another room. Now to access any of this though you have to put in a pin code EVERY time. But that makes sense for security purposes. There is also a voice option you do with their AI assistant Yiko but i rarely use it to send your robovac on cleaning tasks as well.

Worth it?

On the outside the X9 Pro OMNI might look like Ecovacs other offerings, but it hides a lot in its hardware. Cleaning is top notch whether its vacuuming and touching every edge and corner or its mopping using a rolling mechanism which easy handles better than rotating ever could. It is their most expensive robovac as of right now coming in at $1599.99. It cleans better than any other though. If you find it too costly there is the new T8 OMNI that has similar features but about $500 less.
