DESIGN
The Lepro O1 comes in a small box, unassembled. However, it’s very easy to put together and doesn’t require any special tools. All the pieces screw together and the power cable is already threaded through the parts. Once put together, the floor lamp sits about 5ft tall with a base that is less than a foot in diameter.
The lamp is made almost entirely out of metal, except for the portion covering the LED lights. The lamp is colored exclusively in all white and will look great in any room of your home.
I should point out that there’s only one button on the lamp, used to turn the lamp on and off, and a mic. The mic is used for music mode so it can react with sounds. To control the lamp, you will need to download the Lepro app.
EXPERIENCE
This isn’t your ordinary smart floor lamp. The Lepro O1 is packed with features. In terms of lighting, the app offers adjustable brightness levels and temperature settings as well as the inclusion of RBG lighting. Of course, all of this must be controlled from the Lepro companion app, which is available on iOS and Android.
At its core is Lepro LightGPM 3.0, an AI lighting design assistant that leverages color psychology and lighting design knowledge to offer instant lighting recommendations based on your activity and mood.
You’ll need the app for setting up the lamp, which includes connecting the lamp to your Wi-Fi network. The app allows remote control of power, brightness, color temperature, and RGB color selection. It also has voice capabilities for hands-free control, and an AI assistant that can choose different lighting modes based on your mood. I should mention that the Lepro O1 also works with Google Home and Alexa, but not with Apple Homekit.
FINAL THOUGHTS
As far as floor lamps go, the Lepro O1 AI Smart Floor Lamp is pretty good and doesn’t cost too much. I like that it’s easy to set up, and it’s not too hard to figure out how to control it with the app. I wish there were more controls on the actual lamp so I could adjust settings other than just on and off with the button. But aside from that, the lamp does look good and adds a modern flair to any room.
