Create an Optimal Sleep Environment through Integration with Samsung Health

Customizable sleep environment reports through Samsung Health on Galaxy devices provide detailed insights into key factors such as temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels, and lighting      intensity, helping users create optimal sleep conditions. Users can also integrate sleep tracking into automation routines, allowing them to automatically adjust lighting, temperature, and other environmental factors.1

When paired with the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring, these routines can be triggered based on when users fall asleep or wake up, delivering a seamless, personalized experience informed       Samsung Health data. For example, users can set routines to automatically turn off the lights and the TV when they go to bed, open the curtains in the morning when they wake up, or play music that matches their preferences.2

Expanded Routine Capabilities

As part of the latest update, SmartThings now allows users to set automation triggers based on weekly, monthly, and annual schedules, enabling them to control events on a recurring basis. This feature unlocks various use cases, such as automatically changing the color of smart lights to celebrate important yearly events like family birthdays.

In addition, SmartThings routines now support Samsung TV Plus integration; available exclusively on 2025 TV models. Users can automate entertainment settings as part of their smart home experience- for example, setting their TV to turn on a news channel in the morning when the user wakes up so they can get caught up right away over coffee.

Broadcasting through SmartThings Connected Speakers

A brand new intercom feature allows users to send voice messages across SmartThings-connected speakers, making household communication more convenient. For example, if a parent is away from home and sends a voice message through the SmartThings app saying, ‘I’ll be home soon, so if you’re hungry, have a snack from the fridge,’ the message will automatically play on the home speaker. With real-time delivery, family members can stay connected no matter where they are.

Expansion of Devices Supported by Calm Onboarding

Samsung has been providing a convenient ‘Calm Onboarding’ feature since the end of 2023, where product information is automatically linked from order to delivery and connection to the SmartThings app for Samsung home appliances purchased from Samsung.com.3)

Furthering Samsung’s commitment to a more unified connected home experience, users who purchase SmartThings-compatible smart home devices directly from Samsung.com will now receive purchase and delivery updates within the SmartThings app. Additionally, users will receive step-by-step onboarding instructions to simplify product setup. 4)

Matter 1.4 Support

SmartThings continues to drive smart home adoption by expanding its support for Matter 1.4. The latest version of the standard introduces new energy management device types, including water heaters, heat pumps, solar power devices, and batteries, as well as mounted on/off switches and mounted dimmable load control devices to enhance home automation and customization. These newly supported device categories build on popular existing categories such as lights, thermostats, switches, air conditioners, air purifiers, fans, door locks, and more, solidifying SmartThings’ status as a leader in the Matter ecosystem.

By integrating AI-powered routines, expanding device compatibility, and supporting the latest Matter release, SmartThings demonstrates its ongoing commitment to innovation—making the connected home easy to use, saving users time, energy, and money, and helping families stay safe and connected.
