Fabric and High Fidelity are the first things that come to mind when you see headphones from Sennehiser and it’s no different with their Momentum True Wireless 4. They just radiate superb quality and are a pair of earbuds that check the boxes in all areas.

Style

Like their predecessor the TW3, the design language is about the same. The case is a textile fabric all around with the Sennheiser branding on top and a USB-C port on the bottom front. It’s a nice feeling in the hand and allows for a nice grip on the boxy case. Frankly, I have been using it for months and it manages to get dirty either. It comes in four distinct colors with these being White Silver. The case itself supports fast wireless charging.

The earbuds themselves have a two-tone design highlighting a metallic exterior with the Sennheiser branding on each earbud. The earbuds themselves do look a bit boxy, but they produce a nice seal when wearing them in your ears. They have an IP54 rating for water resistance and each earbud is 6.2g in weight.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 comes with a USB-C cable, various ear fins and ear adapter sets.

Features

Make sure you download the app as it expands the usability of the TW4 quite a bit. You can go on there and toggle ANC, transparency levels, touch controls, and even do a fit test to make the earbuds are properly inside your ears. You can also enable a “Find Headphones” option that will keep track of each earbud separately. These earbuds also support Auracast allowing you to tune into broadcasts at locations like bars, airports, etc.

Sennheiser Momentum TW4 has been with Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and former iPhone 15 Pro.

Sound

Like the design it carried over also did it bring over 7mm drivers. They support codecs of SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Loseless, LC3, and LE Audio. Of course, your smartphone must have these options available.

These earbuds have such rich detail, and I can tell while listening to Busta Rhymes “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.” Busta’s vocals seem more in the forefront and still getting that thumping bass in the background. The same can be said when listening to “Quicksilver” by Fourplay which is a mostly instrument melody but gives you various tones. Tamia singing her heart out on “You Put a Move on My Heart” you get a full feel of her vocals.

Experience

I have worn these earbuds for lengthy periods of time and haven’t felt much discomfort at all. They stayed snug and never felt like they were going to fall out. ANC did a superb job of blocking out noise on my daily subway commutes. Ambient has been nice when needed for giving me access to my surroundings. They live up to their 30hr battery life as I can’t frankly remember charging them but so often. Only gripe might be the case, as its boxy and may not be the most pocketable for some.

Verdict

Sennheiser knocks it out the park with this pair of earbuds. They look different than others out in the market, feel comfortable for extended periods, and have a nice balanced sound profile and should be able to cater to your listening tastes. They retail for $299.99 but can usually be found on sale for about $250.
