I am a big fan of bags. Whether backpacks, slings, or even waist packs, I think bags are infinitely useful day-to-day. I have an everyday carry backpack I use for work, but if I’m just out and about, I’ll use something like a sling or waist pack to carry my handful of belongings. So that’s why the Gram28 157 Essential Sling caught my eye. The 157 Essential Sling is a stylish everyday sling bag for the essentials that has a unique look for those who want something a bit more modern and luxurious.
DESIGN
The Gram28 157 Essential Sling is a sophisticated looking modern sling made from genuine full-grain Italian leather and other high quality materials. It features an innovative pouch design that will always keep its shape no matter what is in it or not in it. While the pouch itself doesn’t look very fancy, the visual appeal lies with the buckle that has a very modern-industrial look, with a very distinct placement that is meant to keep the bag upright and always in reach.
You will need to wear the 157 Essential Sling in a specific way because of its shape – mainly the strap has to sit on your left shoulder so that the pouch hangs on your right side.
Aside from its looks, this little pouch is surprisingly roomy. The main compartment has a ton space, which also includes two zippered interior pockets and a pen holder. You can fit so much into this thing, such as your wallet, keys, phone, earbuds, and other EDC items. You can even fit a small camera if that’s something you also carry with you.
EXPERIENCE
In terms of usage, the Gram28 157 Essential Sling is a great fit. By that I mean it hangs so nicely on your body and the pouch section does sit very upright. There’s plenty of room to store a lot of items and even if you don’t, the bag keeps its shape quite nicely. I love the leather used and I’m the type who actually loves the smell of real leather.
The durability of the 157 Essential Sling is also worth mentioning as the quality of the build is very impressive. The stitching is all tight and straight and the zippers used are all heavy duty.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I’m really impressed by the Gram28 157 Essential Sling. While a leather sling isn’t something I would normally army around, I can’t deny just how good it looks and how durable and versatile it is. Not only that, the quality of the materials and build are just too good not to ignore.
With that said, you can’t go wrong picking up the Gram28 Essential Sling. This is the perfect everyday carry bag that will fit everything you need for that outing to the store or that day trip into the city.
