ZAGG is a brand that has been around for a long time and I remember them best for their line of screen protectors for the iPhone. They also sell cases for various popular devices with the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series being one of them. ZAGG makes a full assortment of styles for the new phone and we’ll be looking at their ZAGG Crystal Palace with Kickstand, the ZAGG Denali, and the ZAGG Everest. We’ll also look at two of their screen protectors, the Fusion and Fusion XTR3.
ZAGG Denali Case
The ZAGG Denali case is a dual-layer case consisting of a TPU inner layer and a graphene-infused back plate. Graphene is a material that is harder than a diamond but more elastic than rubber, giving the Denali case the ability to withstand 16ft drops. Not only the the case protect against drops, but it also has an antimicrobial agent that protects the case by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
The case is made from 100% recycled materials and is compatible with wireless chargers. What I like about the case is its skin-tight fitment, textured back for grip, and comfortable hold in my hands. The ZAGG Denali comes in either black or deep evergreen.
ZAGG Everest Case
The ZAGG Everest case is similar to the Denali but has triple layers of protection and is rated to withstand up to a 20ft drop. The three layers are a graphene-infused plate, a polycarbonate back plate, and a TPU inner lining and border. On top of that, the Everest also includes an antimicrobial agent that protects the case by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
The case is made from 100% recycled materials and is compatible with wireless chargers. It also has a textured rear back for grip as well as textured edges. I like how this case protects all around the camera lenses and doesn’t leave any spaces for the phone to peek through. Overall, this case also feels really good in your hands and fits very well for maximum protection.
ZAGG Crystal Palace with Kickstand Case
The ZAGG Crystal Palace case is their super clear transparent case. This one however has an integrated kickstand on it for extra versatility. This case is also strengthened by graphene with a material that is anti-yellowing, scratch resistant, and can withstand a 13ft drop. The case also includes an antimicrobial agent that protects the case by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
This case is really clear and lets you show off your phone’s original color. I like the feel of the case as the edges are all smooth and rounded and have a bit of a rubbery feel to them. The inclusion of the kickstand is also appreciated and works quite well in the landscape position.
Fusion XTR3 Screen Protector
The ZAGG Fusion XTR3 screen protector I’ve been using on my phone for the past couple of weeks or so. This is ZAGG’s most advanced flexible hybrid screen protector and is of something they call Hexiom impact technology. It’s made of a flexible hybrid polymer that looks and feels like glass. It supposedly also has an enhanced Eyesafe blue light filter, anti-reflective technology, and anti-dust adhesive. The kit also includes an EX Apply installation kit.
So how has my experience been so far? The Fusion XTR3 does actually look and feel like glass. it’s smooth to the touch and doesn’t have the type of friction that a normal TPU-style screen protector has. It also doesn’t seem to leave any little dents when you press into it. Time will tell if it holds up, but so far so good.
Fusion Screen Protector
The regular ZAGG Fusion screen protector is their regular flexible hybrid protector. These are very similar to the Fusion XTR3 protectors except that it doesn’t have Hexiom impact technology. It’s still a flexible hybrid polymer, however, and it’s supposed to feel just like glass. It’s not dent-resistant however as I did leave some nail marks on it when trying to scratch something off the surface.
The protector however is pretty clear and very easy to install. The EZ Apply system is nearly foolproof so anyone can install this on their own.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I’ve used some ZAGG cases and screen protectors in the past and for the most part, they’ve been pretty good. I wasn’t a huge fan of their screen protectors before, but these new ones are much better. They are much smoother and more like glass. Their new cases are also not too bad either and you can get most of them with or without the built-in kickstand. The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of color choices.
