Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Arguably the best Nintendo Switch or the best game this year comes from Tears of the Kingdom. Continuing your adventure through Hyrule you will encounter more side quests, an enhanced battle system and more detailed graphics pushing the Switch to its limits. This game and its predecessor Breath of the Wild will grab even the biggest of non-Zelda fans.

Disney Illusion Island

If you are looking for a side scrolling adventure in the vein of a MetroVania-style game this fits the bill. While it is geared more towards kids, adults can have fun as well exploring the various colorful detailed levels going back and forth unlocking doors, retrieving artifacts, and solving puzzles. Best of all it can be played in single player or up to four at a time.

Super Mario RPG

If you are feeling nostalgic, Nintendo revises an old strategy game classic with Super Mario RPG. Originally developed by Square, this one is by ArtePiazza. It has updated graphics, some name changes like Toadstool to Peach, enhanced battle system, and latest music. But you do have the option to switch back to the old music as well.

Just Dance 2024

Even though it is not a Nintendo exclusive, Just Dance has always been a wonderful place on the Switch console. Every year brings a new crop of songs, characters, and even new modes such as Workout Mode. The series has always been a workout but to have the option to track your calories is fun. Also, thanks to the joycons and using addtl devices like your smartphone you can play up to six at a time.

Lego 2K Drive

This game mixes the love of Lego and racing to create an open world allowing you to build cars with 1000s of pieces, destroy environment, and besides cars even control other vehicles such as boats. While it is geared at kids, some adults will find the commentary funny. Besides playing online, there is even cross play / progression if you want to face or save content from other platforms.
