Hands-free or slip-on sneakers aren’t new, but Kizik seems to solely focus on this category with its wide array of styles. My fellow G Styler Jason has been using their Athen’s model and has lived by it the past year. I got a close look at Kizik at CES earlier this year and recently decided to try out their Mars Roamer sneaker. Is it as comfortable as it looks?
Style
While most of their sneakers such as Vegas, Milan, and even the mentioned Athens are more on the traditional style, the Mars Roamer takes more of a slipper approach. They are mostly composed of a Flex Foam material that is the outsole while the upper is of a soft quilted nylon cushion. On the bottom are traction grooves so you never get caught slipping.

Dipping your foot in you feel the insole which is pillow soft and squishy made to form to your feet over time. This is all backed by the Unified heel utilizing Hands-free Lab tech. This tech is a design specifically for the Mar Roamer and what Kizik is known for to be able to dip your feet in / out of the shoe with ease.

Mars Roamer comes in five four colorways of Deep Space (Black), Ultraviolet (Purple), Ares (Tan), Toasted Marshmallow, and Moon Dust (Gray).
Shipping / Fast Customer Service
So, ordering the Mars Roamer was a simple process and I opted for the Expedited option. This was done on a Saturday afternoon and received my first portion of the order 3days later which was a few pairs of socks. The actual sneakers came the following day. One gripe I had about ordering online is the order was split in two, but Kizik didn’t really give me any indication or dual tracking online at first. I had to reach out to their customer service via email which was SUPER FAST and advised me of the 2nd shipment. I didn’t expect such prompt responding especially at close to 8pm when they were ready to close.
Usage

Unboxing these and getting these ready for wear was the easiest experience I dealt with kicks in a while. No lacing up anything. Just taking out the box and popping my feet in. They are a low cut, so I felt they looked best to me with fitted jeans and or joggers. I have worn them off and on in the past month but there were a couple of days I wore them for very long extended amounts of time.

Those particular days the weather was around the high 50s, low 60s and they felt warm on their feet. They garnered positive attention from my coworkers and even friends easily demonstrating how easy they are to take off and put on thanks to the Hands-free technology.
Verdict
I found the Mars Roamer to be quite comfortable and stylish if they fit your preferences, that is. Wearing them for long periods of time didn’t provide any discomfort and just showing off the ease of removing and applying these kicks to people was fun.
Pricing isn’t bad either with the Mars Roamer going for $119 and they also come in the same colors for women as well.
