Swagtron Swagcycle Pro

Not everyone needs a full-on electric bike. Some people just want something that will take them that last few miles from wherever they might be, whether it be from a parking garage or just a few blocks and want something portable. Larger bikes can be cumbersome and hard to transport that’s why something like the Swagtron Swagcycle Pro is so appealing. This is a pedal-free electric mini bike that is light, easy to carry, and can easily fit in your trunk or small apartment.

When I first saw pictures of the Swagtron Swagcycle Pro, I thought it honestly looked pretty goofy, but after staring at it more and more, it’s actually pretty ingenious how compact it is while still remaining useful. It has everything a bike really needs – a frame, wheels, handlebars, and a seat. The only thing it doesn’t have are pedals and it really doesn’t need them since it’s all-electric and runs on an electric motor. The bike also isn’t really that small at all, at least not in the way you might think. While the dimensions are much smaller than a traditional bike, the ride height is comfortable for an adult and the riding position feels just about the same as a regular bike too.

The Swagcycle Pro is able to feel this way because while the wheels are small and the frame is short, the height of the frame is pretty tall. So for me when I stand next to it, the seat is just a bit lower than where my crotch is. The handlebars are also raised higher so you’re not bending over to use them when you’re sitting. Now you may be wondering where you’re supposed to rest your feet at once you get moving and the answer to that is on the front wheels. There are pegs you install and you are supposed to rest your feet there. While it works, it’s not exactly the most comfortable for me because I guess my legs aren’t quite long enough. I would have preferred some rear pegs.

Aside from that, the Swagcycle Pro is pretty fun to ride. The top speed on this is about 18mph and it only has one speed while you’re riding. You pretty much have to feather the throttle if you want to go a bit slower and not turn it all the way. I should mention that the throttle is on the handlebar and you turn it to go. The handlebar also has two brake levers, a horn button, and a switch to turn on and off the front headlight. There is no digital display on this bike to let you know how fast or how much battery charge you have left. You have to download the app to see those stats.

Stopping power is pretty good as there are two disk brakes on the Swagcycle Pro that help you stop on a dime when needed. Because of its size, the bike is very maneuverable and is great for places where it might be inconvenient to ride a much larger bike. It’s also easy to carry if you need to pick it up and because you can fold the handlebars down, it’ll fit into the trunk of a car, easily.

What I really like about the Swagtron Swagcycle Pro is the fact that you don’t really need to carry around a battery charger as you do with some of the other electric bikes. Instead, this one has it built into the bike, inside a hidden compartment. You can’t remove the battery however so you will need to charge the entire bike next to an outlet. Still, the hidden cable is convenient and you don’t have to worry about ever losing it.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I love the Swagtron Swagcycle Pro. While it might look odd at first, I really appreciate its portability and weight. The bike is also pretty quick for its size so you’ll be able to get where you’re going with ease. I would have liked to have seen some sort of digital display though so I could keep track of speed and other stats, instead of relying on the app. Overall, the Swagcycle Pro is a very fun bike to ride and is great if you want to ride it around town or need something to take you the last few miles of a commute.
