With the Xbox & Bethesda showcase coming this Sunday, Microsoft looks to garner more excitement with the moves that they’re making now and in the future. One of those future moves has finally come to fruition in a now official partnership with Samsung that will allow the XBOX game app to be available on all new 2022 TV models.

This means that we faster than ever on the fast track to a completely all digital gaming world. Whether you think this is a good thing or a bad thing is up to you but it’s no doubt good to see gaming move in a new direction.

The XBOX app will work same as any other app on a smart TV. You enter your login info, grab a bluetooth controller and you’re ready to go. No console needed. I imagine that there will be a ton of support for a variety of controllers if not right away then definitely in the near future.

As of right now streaming will be limited to 1080p and once again we should see changes to this service as it pertains to resolution but at least for now 1080p streaming will ensure a very smooth experience at the very least.

Some people do have some issues with the XBOX app only being supported on 2022 model TV’s but XBOX and Samsung have stated that they intend to support older model TV’s but to what age range is to be determined.

This service goes officially live on June 30th in 27 countries. This is great news not just for XBOX gamers but for gamers as a whole who don’t subscribe to console warring. We’ll playing some games on our Samsung capable TV’s and will update you with that experience. Let us know how excited you are for this news. Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to check out the XBOX & Bethesda show this Sunday June 12th.
