Dotemu games has been having a pretty damn good run with some quality games. Old school games, remade and redone. However, it’s bigger than these games that we remember playing just being done over. They’re a shit load of fun to play, it introduces games that are widely considered classic to the older generation to the new generation so they can get a sense of what those games were like as we saw them, and lastly, they have a ton replay value with so much upside by way of possible DLC in the future.
Streets of Rage 4 was the most recent example of this. If you haven’t played it, buy it, download it, play it. Up next? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Everybody loves TMNT. When the cartoon debuted back in 1986/87 I loved it and I knew it was going to be a hit and here we are more than 30 years later and people still can’t get enough of them. The video games bearing their name and likeness in particular.
TMNT changed the game when TMNT: Turtles in Time was introduced. 4-player co-op Ninja Turtle madness. Now in 2021 we get TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. This new game takes the best from Turtles in Time and of course, makes it better. The trailer doesn’t give away too much but from what we can see, it’s still 4-player co-op. There’s a new animation style. We’re quite sure each character has a distinct set of moves, combos, strengths and weaknesses. We also get to see our favorite baddies such as Bebop and Rocksteady, the Foot clan, probably Krang and we’ll most definitely see Shredder.
There’s no release date on this game as of yet but it’s safe to say that if it’s being announced with a trailer now then I don’t think that we’re going to be waiting too much longer for this game to get to us. You can even save in your wishlist on Steam just as a reminder. We’ll keep you posted when we get more details on this game and you can expect a full review once we play it.
