You know what no one likes? Getting stuck in a parking lot with a dead battery. You know what’s worse? When no one wants to stop and help you. I’m sure some of you have run into this scenario before but if you get this little gadget, that may never happen to you again. I’m talking about the 70mai Jump Starter which is a portable battery charger with the ability to jump start a dead broken-down car.
I’m going to start this off by saying that there wasn’t really a real way for me to test out the actual jump starting capabilities of the 70mai Jump Starter. I don’t currently own a car that has a near dead battery or know of anyone who needed a jump start. I’m not about to intentionally try a kill a healthy battery by leaving my lights on in my car just to try this. For the most part, I just have to take the word of the manufacturer that this works.
What I can tell you is that old school battery chargers are huge and I mean large enough where they used to have their own handles so you could carry them more easily like briefcases. I’ve never used one because they were a pain to carry around. Instead, I usually had a set of jumper cables in my trunk. The problem with that is you need two cars to make jumper cables useful and like I stated above, sometimes not everyone wants to help.
Design
That’s where the 70mai Jump Starter comes in. It’s small, like the size of a really beefy mobile phone battery charger. It’s not small enough to fit in your pocket, but it is small enough to fit in your glove box or center storage compartment if you have one of those. It also comes with the jumper cables needed to connect to your car battery which makes the whole unit a bit larger. The cables aren’t that large though and just long enough so you can attach them to your car battery terminals. Luckily, there is a nice carry case included that fits the charger and the cables in a neat, tidy package.
On the battery charger itself, there is a special port used to connect the jumper cables to. You just plug in one end of the jumper cables to it and you’re pretty much good to go. There’s also a USB-A port on it so you can charge other equipment if need be, in case of an emergency. The unit can be recharged with a standard USB-C cable (also included).
Specs
For you spec junkies out there, the 70mai Jump Starter has a 11,100mAh rated battery and can supposedly jump start a car with a 3.0L engine up to 40 times before it needs recharging. The current running through the cables starts at 250A and ramps up to a peak current of 600A. It is designed for Designed for 12V vehicles with up to 4.0L gas and 2.0L diesel engines cars, SUV, motorcycles, trucks and more.
It also has eight intelligent functions that make using the 70mai Jump Starter safe for users.

It’s very simple to use. All that’s needed is to plug the jumper cables into the battery charger, connect the red and black clamps to the proper polarity on your car battery, and then wait for the green light to turn on. Once that’s on, you can safely start your vehicle.
Final Thoughts
While I wasn’t able to fully review the 70mai Jump Starter to actually jump start a car yet, i know that eventually I’ll get the chance. I’ve had my car battery die plenty of times that I know this will eventually come in handy. When it does, I will surely add the experience to this review.
I will say this, the thought of being able to jump start my own car without the help of another person and their vehicle is immensely gratifying. Especially when you’re far from your home or have no one close by that can help you. What if you were on a road trip and got caught with a dead battery in the middle of nowhere? At least with this you can jump your vehicle and get to where ever you need to get to that’s safer than an empty parking lot or on the side of the road.
I think that peace of mind on its own is worth just picking the 70mai Jump Starter up. Hopefully you’ll never have to use it, but if you do, at least this is something you can do all by your self, quickly and safely to get you on your way.
