While you might like the slim sleek design of the OnePlus 5T you may also notice it’s a little slippery as well. It might not bother some folks but if you want to add a little protection Urban Armor Gear as a nice rugged case in their Pathfinder Series to help.
Style
If the 5T is a bit too sleek thanks to its aluminum build you the Pathfinder Series will get you that needed thickness and grip. The casing is composed of a hard plastic material that has oversized clicky buttons for power, volume toggle and a cutout for the alert slider for easy access with your thumb. Access is also available on the bottom for a headphone jack and I like how the cutout is oversized so you don’t have issues plugging on various Type C cable styles. I had issues with that using the standard 5T cases that OnePlus makes. Fingerprint sensor on the back to access as well.
Usage
As most of the UAG cases I have used over the years this one is right up there in terms of durability. The OnePlus 5T has taken some falls but you wouldn’t know it thanks to this case. It also helps that the corners take impact and shock and the bumper is raised around the glass to help protect the display. I have used it various times with Android Pay to make purchases in stores. This was great to hear as this one of the few issues I had using Samsung Pay with one of their cases on the Note 8.
Verdict
At a worthy price of $39.95 the Pathfinder gives you that added protection your OnePlus 5T that you make not realize you needed. I’d love to seen more color options but hopefully that will be on the next OnePlus iteration.
