With the Premiere of Marvel’s “Agent Carter” we also get a bonus, the World Premiere first look trailer of Marvel’s “Ant-Man”. Marvel’s 12th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken almost 9 years to finally hit the screen. Development for this troubled film began in way back in April 2006, the same time another Marvel film called, “Iron Man” began pre-production. Edgar Wright (of “Shaun of the Dead” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) was attached to direct and write the film with Joe Cornish (director of the cult classic film, “Attack the Block”).

Wright got as far as shooting test footage for the film (which was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2012) and casting Paul Rudd in the lead before leaving the project citing creative differences.

Since then Reed was brought in as Wright’s replacement and McKay was hired to give to the existing script. This film my be the riskiest bet for Marvel considering the obstacles, let’s hope the magic of Rudd and the star-power of Michael Douglas is enough to prove this film can be BIG.
