The HTC One M8 hit the shelves last week to much fanfare and one of the most talked about features of the M8 is that sexy aluminum build. It gives the phone a premium feeling and not cheapen like some other plastic coated devices. Of course with this look you want to show it off and keep it as I like to coin “naked”. But the main problem with that is there is no protection if you happen to drop it. Incipio has taken the reigns and wants to keep your HTC One M8 up to par and still have it looking good but well protected. Is the DualPro Shine that hero?
Style
When you check out the casing of the DualPro SHINE you will see it resembles the look of the HTC One M8. Gunmetal silver coloring with brushed aluminum to mimic the same look. The reason it’s called DualPro is its double layered protection. The first part is a shock absorbing silicone dLAST core and placed upon that is the brushed aluminum frame. It’s a pretty easy procedure to apply, and if you want to remove the casing you would do the steps in reverse. Remove the metal frame, and then the silicon core base. One thing I like about the DualPro SHINE is the black accents you get at the top, bottom, and sides if you ever get sick of just looking at straight silver coloring afterwhile.
Experience
Using it for a few days, it does give a slight grip to the HTC One M8 which to some maybe hard to grasp with its slick brushed polish. It does add a slight bit of weight to the already heavy M8 but nothing overwhelming. I haven’t found any displeasure and the back doesn’t look to be taking any scratches as of yet. I tried marking it with keys and its held up pretty good. The coloring of the DualPro Shine isn’t identical but it helps still keep the identity of the M8 rather than if it was some other color. Because in the end, the M8 is tech beauty and you want the world to see it.
Keep You Shining?
I usually prefer my cases as minimal as possible but I have to say I like the look of the DualPro SHINE. It keeps the prestige of the M8 and feels like it can give you some protection at the same time. I haven’t seen anything close to looking like the M8 as of yet so I would say definitely give it a look see and how it fares for you.
The Incipio DualPro SHINE case for the HTC One M8 is available for $34.99 with Incipio and comes in Black/Silver or Black.
