Razer really took CES this year by storm with its plethora of gaming related devices. They had something for everyone at their CES booth regarding from a 4K webcam, new thinner laptops, an AI-based soundbar, and even a surround sound head cushion. Let us also not forget the star of Razer’s show a mighty gaming handheld in the Razer Edge.

Kiyo Pro Ultra

If you are looking to take your streaming to another level on the visual side the Kiyo Pro Ultra just pops with detail. It has a huge F/1.7 aperture lens that pulls in so much light. Even though the room I was trying it out in popping with various lighting affects you could still see the crisp details as I looked at my face on screen. Its processing power can convert raw 4K 30fps (or 1080P 60fps) footage into uncompressed 4K 24 fps, 1440p 30fps, or 1080 60fps right to your stream. There is also HDR support and Al-powered Face Tracking Auto-focus. Now I have used webcams that have either or the other but utilizing both and at this level is uncanny. Its lens can also be rotated to close the shutter as well.

Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is available now for $299.99 on their website.

“Project Carol”

I love being immersed in sound when gaming or watching movies and that usually comes in the form of speakers or soundbars that are in front of me. Razer has a head cushion to give you surround sound and haptics that makes you feel right in the content you are viewing/playing. We evaluated it on a Fast 7 movie which you know has a ton of action going on. Best of all it can essentially be attached to any gaming chair. Right now, it does not have a price and is still in concept stages but hopefully it makes it way out soon.

Razer Edge

We got to spend a good amount of time playing with the Edge and we can see why its hard to put down. It is powered by a Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming processor and has 6.8” AMOLED Display with a 2400×1080 FHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Razer loves to keep their devices cool so it has built in active cooling for long sessions. Best of all it comes in two flavors of Wi-Fi or 5G via Verizon.

We got to test it with a handful of games including see our friends over at Level1 go head-to-head with one of the reps for Razer in a battle of Brawlhalla on the Verizon 5G network. Even in a packed area like that there wasn’t any connection lost or anything. I also got in a level of High on Life as well.

It is set to release on January 26th for $399.99 for Wi-Fi. For Verizon it will be $359.99(with 36mth Device Payment) when adding new line or $179.99 when buying the Edge 5G with a new 5G smartphone. Other retail is $599.99.

We did also get to try out Razer’s Adjustable Head Strap System which is comfortable even while wearing over my glasses. I got to try it out while playing a round of Beat Saber and all the moving around and swinging and I felt at ease. Their new Blade 16 & 18 laptops have such power in their slim chassis it’s unbelievable what’s hiding underneath. The only thing for time constraints we didn’t get to try out was the Leviathan V2 Pro which is their headtracking AI soundbar with THX Spatial Audio.

With these various products Razer looks to be getting a nice jump start for 2023 hitting about every area in the gaming space. Hopefully, we get to try out these devices more in-depth soon.
