We’re a little late to the party but this is one of those updates that need to be seen – earlier this week, Fujifilm and Adobe announced their intention to bring a camera to cloud (C2C) connection update that will leverage Adobe’s Frame.io collaborative workflow and tools with Fujifilm’s latest flagship camera.

The announced firmware update is expected to be available in Spring 2023 and it will require X-H2S users to have both the FT-XH accessory, an active Adobe CreativeCloud account with Frame.io, and an internet connection. This will allow the immediate transfer of files – both still and video files – to be sent directly from the camera to Frame.io’s workspace.

Having the ability to nearly immediately begin editing field files with collaborators is the kind of upgrade that the Fujifilm system needs to be taken seriously as a workhorse, production camera. As a Fujifilm user and content creator, this could potentially open up more use cases for the X-mount system and greater investment in the system, specifically for “pro” applications.
