Satechi

Satechi makes a ton of accessories for Apple-related products, though many of which work just as well with non-Apple products as well. Specifically, their brand new GaN USB-C PD Chargers work for a wide variety of USB-C related products, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops just to name a few. There are three new GaN USB-C PD Chargers for your choosing and each has its own unique benefits. There’s a 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger, a 66W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger, and a 108W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger. Each features GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology and each provides super-fast, reliable charging with better efficiency.

100W USB-C PD Wall Charger

The 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger is the most limited of the bunch. By this I mean it can only charge one device at a time, though can charge at a full 100W if your device supports it. This is mainly for power-hungry laptops such as Macbooks, though it worked perfectly fine charging my HP Spectre X360. It also had no issues super-fast charging a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ as well as a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra at full speeds.

The body of the chargers seems to be made of plastic, though it has the look of brushed aluminum. It seems to be made quite well and I love that this has folding power prongs to help cut back on size when you need to carry it around. It is still a fairly large charger though, but probably smaller than most included laptop chargers.

The 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger I would recommend to anyone who just needs to charge one item at a time and specifically if you need to charge a laptop.

66W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger

The 66W USB-C PD 3-Port Wall Charger is the smallest of the bunch but has the benefit of having three charging ports. Because these are USB-C PD ports, power is automatically adjusted based on the ports connected. It supports multiple configurations up to 66W. Speeds will be configured as the following: 65W, 30W/30W or 45W/20W, and 30W/18W/18W. So depending on your devices plugged in, they might not all fast charge at once if you have devices that require a lot of power.

However, the 66W USB-C PD 3-Port GaN Wall Charger is very versatile and can also charge a wide assortment of devices – smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. This is a very travel-friendly charger that also features folding power prongs and its smaller size makes it much easier to carry. It also looks pretty nice thanks to its Space Grey finish and certainly has that modern look.

108W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger

The 108W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger is the most versatile of the bunch and similar to its smaller sibling. It is just slightly larger than the 66W charger but has the same added benefit of having three USB-C PD ports. This time though, the total output is 108W which means you should have zero issues powering and charging three power-hungry devices at once.

This too supports multiple speed configurations which are as follows: 100W, 60W/45W or 88W/20W, 45W/30W/30W or 58W/30W/20W. So you can see that this will power up pretty much any device with no issue.

The 108W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger also features folding power prongs and a Space Grey finish. While larger than the 66W charger, it is still very portable and easy to carry around. This takes the place of three chargers so the slightly larger size is better than having to carry around three different chargers.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Satechi has something special here with their line of GaN USB-C PD Wall Chargers. There’s something here for everyone, whether you need to charge one device or three devices. These also come at different price points so you have options based on price and specs. My favorite of the bunch though would have to be the 108W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger This is basically the 100W and 66W charger combined into one and is the best of both worlds. This is enough to power pretty much any laptop, tablet, smartphone, headphones, Nintendo Switch, and anything else that has a USB-C charging port.

So with that said, regardless of which one is my favorite, any one of the three would make good purchases based on what you need. They’re all capable chargers that not only work really well but also look really good.
