If you are one that’s hoping this film changes the events of “Avengers: Endgame”, think again. This feature film takes place between the events of “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War”. Directed by Cate Shortland (SMILF, Berlin Syndrome), this movie intends to fill in what we don’t know about the Black Widow. Shortland reveals, “In this film, we get to understand her past and put the pieces of herself together and come out a whole person.” Other than cast reveals, David Harbour (Stranger Things) will play Alexei, aka The Red Guardian, in the comics is the Soviet Union’s equivalent of Captain America. Florence Pugh (Little Women, Midsommar, Fighting with My Family) will be playing Yelena Belova, a ‘sister’ to Natasha Romanoff, Rachel Weisz plays the mysterious role of Melina and the biggest trailer reveal was TaskMaster, a villain with photographic reflexes, the ability to essentially copy any martial arts move he sees.
Black Widow hit the big screen on May 1st, 2020.
