It’s the second half of summer and that means its almost time to hit up one of the more unique cocktail festivals called Secret Summer. Hitting its 5th year it’s a one of a kind experiences featuring a ton of farm-to-bar vendors ranging from not just drinks but also food. There are also some great music performances on hand taking place through the venue.
Secret Summer serves up drinks with some of most prominent spirits brands around to give you a unique taste you won’t get anywhere else. Spirit Brands this year include: Aldez Tequila, The House of Suntory, Westward Whiskey, Aperol Spritz, Gem & Bolt Mezcal, The Long Drink, Runa, Mr. Black and more. Blue Point Brewery will be there with some IPAs while The London Essence Co: Fine Mixers from Distilled Essences will showcase some drinks with interesting flavor profiles with and without spirits.
If spirits aren’t your thing there will be refreshing beverages from KeVita Sparkling Probiotic , Fizzy Fox and Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Co., while Polar Seltzer and Harmless Harvest Coconut Water will also quench your thirst. Elmhurst Milked has unique takes on delicious iced lattes and coffees featuring 100% plant-based milks.
Food choices this year come from a list of newcomers such as Nansense NYC, Cash Only BBQ, Jian Fong Restaurant, Mama Margaritas, and other choices like Crazy Taco Mex Truck and Signature Platter. Sweet treats can be tastes from My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream and Tipsy Scoop which has liquor-infused ice cream with up to 5% ABV.
This year’s performers include High & Mighty Brass Band, DJ Dastan, DJ David Hohme and Mira Fahrenheit. Secret Summer has also teamed up with LYFT to offer festival goers a discounted ride to and from the fest.
The 5th annual fete and immersive summer garden party, produced by Tyler Hollinger of HighLife Productions, Andrew Maturana of RAPT Hospitality and Allison Du Val of The Foundry, will welcome 1,000 attendees and feature seasonal farm-to-bar cocktails, unique food vendors, and live musical performances throughout the sprawling venue that includes a 3,000 square foot Main Hall, Garden Courtyard, Greenhouse, Albra Room and Terrace.
“This year, we are excited to be partnering with local farms , Brooklyn Grange Farm (Brooklyn Navy Yard), Windfall Farm (Montgomery, NY), Gotham Greens (Greenpoint Brooklyn + Hollis Queens), Bowery Farming (Manhattan) Lucky Dog Farm (Hamden, NY) and Lani’s Farm (South New Jersey, Bordentown) for the first time to supply the Secret Summer festival cocktail program with some of the most beautiful, local ingredients the season has to offer.” said event producer Andrew Maturana.
